I just wanted to take a minute to brag on our sweet girl. I had so much anxiety the last few weeks of pregnancy wondering how she would adjust, would she push me aside, or be mad at me for not being able to hold her, would she feel jealous? We have been home for 5 days now, and she is doing great. Now when I say great, keep in mind, she is three, so as great as a three year old can do.
She loves to cuddle him, hug him, kiss him and just be very hands on. We're working on "gentle hands". She doesn't understand that he isn't a baby doll, so she'll turn his head whichever way is convenient for her to give him a kiss, and when we change his diaper, she'll lift his leg up over his head, HA! she's just so curious.
The first day in the hospital we found ourselves snapping at her, just being so nervous because he was so new and tiny and now we've gotten better and just calmly saying "please be easy". She's just the best big sister and loves him so much. First thing in the morning she'll ask "where's Carter?" She'll need to give him a kiss and a hug and then she'll say to Justin and I, "I missed you guys while I was sleeping." and our hearts just melt. We've noticed she really loves to hold him when other people come to visit, it's like she doesn't want to share, and it's kind of the cutest thing.
She is so ready for "mama's boo-boo" to be better so I can hold her and she can lay down with me without having to watch her every move. She's such a mama's girl but she's been all about her daddy these last few days and vice-versa. Justin has been great about showing her extra attention, taking her out to play and taking her with him to run errands around town. She's been wild and at times a handful and make us question if we'll be able to do this once my mom isn't here 24/7, but I have faith we'll adjust to becoming a family of four and we can't wait to see what the next year holds with our sweet boy in it!

Pepa brought his trike over and she loved sitting on it!

She loves to swing + Carter loves the outdoors!

She's been having "sleepovers" in the living room while Meme is staying with us!

Sweet baby brother!
