So, I am usually all about patterns and just a neutral theme so we don't end up with a bunch of "themed toys", if that makes sense? Her first birthday we did just a rainbow theme, and last year I had planned the most beautiful pink and gold themed shabby chic party. If you know me, you know I am all about party planning - I absolutely love it. So I typically start planning her parties in October, however, last year around February I realized she really LOVED Doc McStuffins and so I did a quick switch-a-roo and threw a Doc party and she loved it.

This year she was old enough to tell me what kind of birthday she wanted so we did something original that almost no one did... all the things Frozen. Now usually, we go all out and rent somewhere, I'll host games and have everything planned to a tee. However, this year we decided since we have a house now with a backyard that we would just have it here and enjoy the simplicity of having friends and family over. I loved it. It was perfect. We didn't play any games and I lost track of time and almost forgot about cupcakes. The kids had a blast! We are so thankful for our family and friends.

McKinlee had a great time and she's so social and loves her swingset. She loved all of her gifts and is up to her head in Frozen stickers and all the cute clothes Old Navy can buy thanks to her auntie Gracie! She got lots of outside toys for the summer and an Elsa sing-a-long doll that Daddy and I can't find an 'off' switch for...
We can't wait to see what the next year is going to hold!
